when i married devin over a year ago, i had no idea that i would have to learn his "language." well, more like all the woodruff boy's language.
no, this isn't his LOVE LANGUAGE or anything on those lines. these boys seriously have their own words and a dialogue all of their own that takes quite the task to decipher. and if you ask any of them to explain what a word means, they will simply repeat the same word without any new definition or varying word. so, i have taken it upon myself to translate.
let me demonstrate:
WOODRUFF BOY: "dude, i need to bake on my bake, bad. bake."
TRANSLATION: this could mean he needs to make out with a girl really bad or he needs to go to the gym real bad. and ending with bake - just means like freak, while in urgency. see, there can be SO many meanings with this!
seriously "BAKE" is the ultimate woodruff word though. whenever they get off the phone with each other it's either, "bake" or "bake out." see, now it means bye! or when they want to go to each other's houses they say, "well, just bake over." i could write a book on "BAKING." and the term "baking" usually means pursuing a girl. "dude, i'm just baking on this bake."
baking= pursuing/kissing her/taking her on dates
bake= girl for the most part
here's another...
WOODRUFF BOY: let me narf the rest of those cookies. OR - just narf those in the bag.
TRANSLATION: first one, not so hard - let me eat the rest of those cookies. OR - just PUT those in the bag. no correlation whatsoever. it's just however they choose to use it.
WOODRUFF BOY: dude, let me talk to the vera.
TRANSLATION: one of the woodruff boy cousins is "the vera." i will NOT go into further detail about that one. anything with the word vera in it refers to him though.
and they all have the weirdest nicknames for each other. none of them even sound remotely close to their real names.
oh, to be a woodruff boy. woe is me- to be married to a woodruff boy.
