who are you?

you would think that by the age of almost 23, you would know EXACTLY who you are, right?

well, i feel like the molding of my character changes EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.

it's mostly because of the people that are around me constantly, small day to day conversations, a pretty sunrise, reading a book, looking at something from someone else's point of view, and just not being judgmental.

i feel like describing myself is a contradiction sometimes.

my name is ashley and i've only ever said "i love you" to one boy. i married that boy and am grateful for that decision every day. we're having a baby and i'm CONSTANTLY dreaming about this crazy, little somebody. i can't wait to meet you. we have some FLY names picked out for you, even if you are a boy :) being a parent sounds like a blast and terrifies me at the same time. nonetheless, i wish you'd come NOW so i can stop being nauseous.

i am obsessed with country music. but my favorite artist for all my life will always be bob marley. i love the summer time. i wish winter was only here for one day to enjoy the snow and then be done with it until the next year. i wish with all of my heart that i could be super tan, i think it's so hot. but i kind of love being really white sometimes. i love love love pictures. i don't take enough. i love watching sports, but only for a little while. i get bored really easily. i wish i was one of those really athletically inclined girls. oh wait, i'm not. that ship sailed a long time ago. i work out once in a blue moon and i am totally okay with that. i love telling people that i love running but i have no idea why i lie to them. when i am actually running, i want to puke and never run again. to the real runners out there - i salute you, but i will never, ever be one of you.

politically, i am far too right winged - however, i hate watching the news. i think it's because my entire family and in-laws and so conservative i could never disown my strong opinions which have not much backing to them. but i am extremely patriotic and love president bush. i think obama is not the greatest man i've ever heard of, but that's okay. even though i am a staunch republican, i feel like sometimes i could be one of those hippies living in the wilderness wearing tye-dye and hunting for my own food the rest of my life. i love the idea of world peace and peace signs and making the world a better place. i think all of those things were instilled in me from majoring in sociology even though i hated half of my professors because they were too liberal, even at this conservative of a university.

i love the united states. i would never like to live anywhere else. BUT - i would LOVE to travel, just always with the safety net of coming home to america, the land of the free. devin and i don't act like mature adults, ever. i like it that way. i hate when people are not reverent during church. however, we always get the giggles during sacrament meeting and we are totally a couple that gets on my nerves for that, ha! i hate 1:30 church, it is SO late. but i hate nothing more than waking up early for church. half of what is said never registers in my brain because all i can think about is my bed and how i missed breakfast. i loooooove eating fruits and vegetables. eating healthy makes me feel like i can do anything, but that never lasts long because i love candy even more than being healthy.

i love dressing like a boy. half my clothes are from thrift stores and i think that is the funnest way to shop. sometimes i love dressing like a girly girl and feeling very feminine. i love vintage things but sometimes, it goes to far and just screams HELLO GRANDMA! i will encourage all my children to travel and follow their crazy dreams that don't exactly seem possible. but we will somehow make it a reality. i love devin because he will be with me 100% in all important decisions. divorce is the scariest word to me. marriage is the funnest word to me.

i have a love/hate relationship with camping. i love the idea of sleeping under the stars and being "one" with nature. but when the bugs come out i am a cranky girl. i love shopping. i will go shopping for anything at any time. it was a disease i was born with. i blame my mother. i love cleaning. our house is 99% always clean - it is currently that other 1% right now. fancy that.

i have folders and folders full of pretty layouts of rooms, fabrics, furniture and clothes on my computer. i am obsessed. my mom and i dream of owning a business together one day. i have always said how much i love the west coast all while growing up on the east coast and i can't seem to shut my mouth about how much i miss the east coast now. funny isn't it? i love accents. i wish i lived somewhere exotic right now. i guess rexburg, idaho will have to suffice for now. i love watching documentaries and the history channel. devin and i could watch them for hours, oh and we do. but i love my trashy, stupid shows like the bachelorette, which i'm going to go watch right now.
