MY TYPICAL DAY

the other day i was flipping through my personal journal, which i consider one of my happy places, and realized there was a few months of a gap. i kind of got pit in my stomach. journaling is one of those things that i've always prided myself in being incredibly consistent with. but, i guess dropping the ball is just life. it just bums me out big time that i've missed out on all the funny things the kids have said, things i've gone through, capturing raw emotions and feelings through some decisions. all of that is lost, because -- heaven knows, i will forget it 5 seconds later if i don't write it down.

so i will try my hardest to try at least writing on here a few times a week with whatever random things stick out to me that happened. that way, i won't feel sick about it and at the end of the year i can make a family year book. i've been meaning to do that the last few years so this will be good.

i am warning anyone that actually reads this that it is going to be pretty freaking mundane. for real, my life is not an exotic surprising life full of mystery. it's more of a messy streak of boogers and mac & cheese. but it's a good life. and it's my life so i love it.

as for yesterday, it was martin luther king day. dev had the day off and we took the kids hiking for a few good hours. they are seriously studs outside. i love their love for the outdoors. we have been cooped up pretty bad the last few weeks being sick and i swear just getting fresh air and feeling the wind on your skin does mental wonders! i felt like a million bucks. being outside and being with my boys are my favorites.

after the hike, we all headed home and took long naps and headed down to mesa to hang with one of my all time favorite roommates. we had a bonfire and roasted s'mores in their back yard and just talked and laughed for hours. seriously again, being outside with my favorite people makes life seem completely flawless. i honestly get a new lease on life and feel free when i am able to let loose and just be in nature. i sound like a total granola freak right now, huh? that's alright. i can live with that.

^^this is bri's new smile. no joke. every single picture of him lately is that face.^^

today i got a text from my mom while i was in a meeting that my grandma was having emergency gall bladder surgery and she was in scottsdale! so, i booked it over to the hospital to visit her real quick before her surgery. i freaking love this woman. she was so funny -- writing in her journal because "well, i might die so i want to write some stuff down" hahaha. she better not go anytime soon because she is my fun, shopping, record, music loving friend. she is a doll.

after brighton pretty much terrorized everyone on that floor with his awesome two year old tantrums for an hour straight- i decided i should probably let her rest before she went under. my running buddy came over and we did some cross training while chasing our kids down the street. it was pretty productive, HA! i made dinner and some banana bread and planned out my grocery list and meal planned for the week.

BAM! talk about a life of mystery hahaha. today was a good day. the weather was amazing and the sunset was to die for. bless this arizona weather.
