LITTLE TRAVELERS

lately we have been little travelers and i love it!!! as a parent, and mainly a mom -- i am so critical of my parenting. i can honestly say that almost every night i lay in bed and think about the day with my babes wishing that i didn't make such a big deal out of some things because point blank -- they just don't matter! why do we care so much about dumb things? anyways, i get so excited when i'm proud of a parenting moment. i guess i've never realized that we have trained our boys to travel, travel, travel since newborns and they are actually AWESOME at it.

devin and i get so incredibly restless being in one place for too long, whether it's living or just visiting. we are always up for the drive, and i just realized yesterday so are the boys. i think it's because they are toddlers now and VERY vocal about what they want. (no one in this family holds back on how they feel ha!) and we had just driven 7 hours back from colorado tuesday night and by thursday we were going stir crazy already.

devin had an interview in scottsdale (2.5 hours south) and i just decided spur of the moment that we would make a family trip of it. i told crew at bedtime that in the morning we were going on another trip and he was so excited. he had to climb on brighton's bed and wake him up and tell him. so sweet. the whole car ride down too crew was singing - we're on a trip! woo! on a tripppp...

man i love these boys.

my favorite part was wednesday morning when we were all cuddling in our bed, crew asked if we could go in the car to go somewhere cool. HA! what kid wants to get back in the car after being there ALL day previous??

crew has such an adventurous heart and i think that's one of the things that i fell in love with devin for. i read a quote somewhere that said, never marry a man unless you want to have a son exactly like him. i feel like i won the jack pot with devin because his little mini is crazy cute and sassy and i LOVE his loud and vibrant personality.

everywhere we go, he says he is going to see his friends -- target, a drive, or anywhere. and he does though! he makes friends anywhere. sometimes he ends up chasing kids and telling them they can't leave because they are friends.... we are working on it.

i guess what i'm saying is - it is priceless having these special moments with your kids when you are so proud of who they are turning into because a little bit of them is you and being able to be happy about that. there are pieces of both of the boys that they got from me that bum me out -- like their lack of patience and temper. but man alive do i get excited to fist pump in the air when i get something right.
