COLORADO PART 1

this past weekend we threw the babies in the car and drove the seven hours to see dev's parent's in colorado. it was seriously the funnest weekend. school has been really taxing on devin and the babes and i have needed a change of scenery in the worst way. plus who doesn't need some fun play time?

we got in real late thursday night and crashed after crew wanted to take a tour of their house and jump on the beds and bossed devin's dad around to read him books for an hour. (he's such a sucker) . friday we took it easy and devin did some homework and i did some thrift shopping while his parents were at work. but as soon as they got home, we loaded up the 4-wheelers and were off to ouray, colorado.

i had never heard of ouray before but it is seriously the most beautiful, quaint, AMAZING town i've ever visited. no joke. it's now our future dream to live there. it rests right in the middle of these moutains and if you love the outdoors like we do -- it's out of control. you can seriously hike, canyoneer, mountain bike, snowmobile, fourwheel, camp, you know it within walking distance. so cool. and i almost forgot one of the coolest things. they have this natural hot springs that they turned into the coolest pool area with these huge bouncy house things for kids and something that looks like the BLOB on heavy weights. and it's right next to this cute little baseball field with these amazing little kid slides and park. ahhhh, i could actually envision the boys having their t-ball games there. anyways, back on track.... cool town.

we drove into ouray and plopped the boys on grandma and papa's laps on the razor and dev and i rode the four wheeler up this cool trail up the mountain. literally, it was right next to a cliff. i was a little scared for the boys lives but apparently they are crazier than i am. they were laughing and smiling the whole time. i guess brighton kept standing up on grandma's lap and dancing. so cute. these boys were in heaven, especially crew. he was completely in his element. if i could use one word to describe crew entirely - it would be, DEVIN. crew is devin. everything about him. crew is going to be the same cute brawny, strong, outdoor-sy guy that devin is. i love it. brighton will probably just be a happy blob like his mom and just smile and be glad to be there.

we got to the top of the mountain and ate some peaches, soda and let the boys run around. i take that back, crew ran around. brighton is only taking a few steps at a time and just loves being babied and carried everywhere haha.

the sun was starting to go down so grandma and papa took the boys home with them and left us on the mountain to camp for the night. and this is when it started to get CRAZY. i'll just say that i wasn't aware of the population of bears, elk, moose, and coyotes on the mountain we were "sleeping" on that night.

brawny man? ... i think so ;)

to be continued...

Devin's parents haven't aged at all!
