long long post with no pictures

holy canolie. it is november 18th already! tomorrow is my birthday! yeaaaaaah. i love birthdays. more in particular, mine. ha, is that selfish? whatever :)

the hubs and i have a weird deal for birthdays this year though. for his birthday, he didn't want anything. weird, i know. instead, he bought me running shoes. no no, he wasn't hinting at anything. at least, i hope not! i had been asking for running shoes for a long time and so he decided he wanted to celebrate his birthday by buying me a present. how cute is he? or how not cute is he by buying me stuff and making me exercise.... let's go with the "him being cute" idea.

so, for MY birthday you got it - i got him something. i still have to wrap it all up. PLUS we celebrate half birthdays in this family. annnnd lucky us - our half birthdays are a week after our REAL birthdays. so, dev has his half birthday next saturday and i got his present all ready to go :) i'm excited.

not birthday related - we have been busy as bees lately. hence the lack of posting. plus dev's computer died which has ALL our pictures on it so we are freaking out, just a little. sorry, no pictures this time.

the hubs has been real busy with work. he leaves around 6 AM and gets home around 8 PM every night. whew. i'm excited for the holidays to be over so i can see him again. is that bad? i just miss him, i guess.

i've been frantically trying to get all the christmas/birthday presents made and shopped for. plus i am planning a big {surprise} party with my sister in law for someone. i will explain that soon! and i'm dog sitting for 3 weeks. 3 whole weeks. and we are talking about these people want me to be there at least 8 hours a day. oh, and we have to give talks on sunday. good birthday present huh? ha... i always freak out about talks a bit. weirdly, i LOVE giving talks in church but i always stress way too much about it and make it into a bigger deal than it is.

can you tell that i am rambling?

not at all?

oh, awesome!

the last few weeks i have thought a lot about deleting this blog. not that i don't like writing but i feel that it sucks up my time and i love blog stalking other people plus a lot of real personal things happen and i don't like splurting it all over the internet. so, i have been writing in my own personal journal a lot lately which is probably way i haven't been writing on here so much. BUT i do have things to say and stories to share that i think are worth saying, i'm a little biased though.

i have felt like the anthem of this blog has been:

1. i love my baby
2. i love my husband
3. he does embarrassing things
4. and that makes me love him more
5. i have a funny life type thing

this is all true. i just don't want it to come across as - i have the best life known to man, take that suckers. i just really love what we have going for us. it is really hard work to make it so happy but the fact is simply that.

we are very, very happy.

i know we are blessed. probably a lot more than we should be. i cannot express that enough. i really don't know how we got so lucky to have such a happy, fun baby. he is the biggest joy to us. i am truly so proud to be his mother. i feel horrible saying this but i'm scared to have more babies because they have so much to measure up to. crew is the real deal. and my husband really is a once in a never kind of guy. i mean that, he is not perfect AT ALL but seriously he is pretty dang perfect for me. he drives me crazy and i love him all the more for it. we have a really fun, solid marriage.

i am blessed.

i don't talk about my church a lot on here because i hate preachy people. it sends me over the edge and kind of makes me cringe. however, i know i am so blessed because of my church. i am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. it's bomb. i know that my marriage is so strong because it is built on the gospel. we were sealed in the DC temple. sealed for time and all eternity. that is a pretty big deal. when i look at dev and think about not being with him after this life, it's too much to handle. but through temple sealings - i know i can be with him forever. it's like the whole twilight bella and edward thing but much less weird and vampire-y. yes, i just compared my married to a vampires.

monday - devin got sent home from work because there were too many people working. so, we celebrated my birthday then. i love surprises. he brought home a HUGE fatty bouquet of daisies and just hung out all day. we went out to eat and played with crew and shopped. it really was the perfect day. that night, i walked in on the hubs putting the pig down for bed and he was holding him and singing a spanish hymn to him. i got it bad for this guy.

pretty much, i guess what i'm trying to say is - tell someone you love them today. it's important. i bet if you look at your life, you will realize you have a whole lot more going on for you than you may have thought. it's just important to remember that.
