death and birth

so most everyone that goes to byu-idaho already knows about the faculty death of alain budge. well, he was my boss for almost 3 years and devin's for the past year. he became such a close and dear friend of ours. he was killed last friday night in a motorcycle accident. when we received the news saturday morning, it was completely surreal. we had just talked to him on the phone thursday night and had gone to his office so he could meet crew. i think i always go through the denial phase of deaths for entirely too long, but i guess that's my way of dealing with close loved ones passing on.

all i can say, or ANYONE can say about alain are the very BEST things. he was such an amazing man. he was so close to the spirit and truly a man of God. everyone that met him had the utmost respect for him. he was always willing to lend a hand to anyone, such a helpful person. his life was all about service and the church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints. he loved the book of mormon and lived each day to the fullest. i know he was only 50 and had so much life left to live, but he truly did live a WONDERFUL life that was exemplary to me and dev. we want to be more like him. after the viewing and funeral this morning, we decided that our next boy is getting the middle name, alain. he will truly be missed.

i hate writing about sad things on here, but it would be wrong if i didn't write about alain. we will always miss our good friend.

on to happier things - OUR very happiest and brightest spot, our chubster - crew. i find it hard to blog as often, not because it's crazy and a hassle around here now but when crew is napping, i just want to stare at him for hours or until he wakes up. it's my very favorite thing to do.

the hubs LOVES being a dad. seriously i melt every time i see these two hangin out. they're such good buddies already.

we got SO lucky with crew that he barely ever spits up. HOWEVER, the one time he did spit up... it was epic. seriously - it was EVERYWHERE... on my face and in my hair too. i love being a mom :)

crew pretty much HATES his baths. he just sits there not sure what to do and then he starts shaking and then starts screaming hysterically. it's pretty funny.

crew got to meet his great GREAT grandma and his great grandma last weekend.
