stick it.

bad news: i seriously suck at driving. that is not news or anything just a statement. i suck. bad. bad. bad. that is, at stick. something weird is going on with the jeep right now so i have to take the civic everywhere and it is stick. that means = ashley's worst nightmare.

just imagine...

i'm driving down the road (SO proud of myself, keep in mind) until i get to a light and have to stop. I HATE STOPPING. stopping is like a flag that i'm going to stall out no matter what. well, of course i did stall out - IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION. that would have been fine if it just happened once but it happened at TWO different intersections. so, everyone behind me is honking and i am panicking and keep trying to start the car again, only to stall out more and more. i stalled out 9 times in a row. is that normal? anyways, i start freaking out and can't handle everyone honking at me anymore so what do i do? normally, i would have giggled a little, then cried. but my hormones make me ohnry! so, I HONK BACK. A LOT. probably not the smartest thing. then, i proceed to turn on my flashers and sit there doing nothing. yes, i sat in the intersection until i could collect myself - while all the honking is still going on. keep in mind this happened two times. TWO TIMES. juuuuuuust lovely.

i thought about getting out and lifting up my shirt and showing them how large and pregnant i am. i'm not exactly sure what that would've done, but at the time it seemed totally rational. however, i'm REALLY glad i stayed in the car and kept my little guy under wraps. besides, the lady in the mini-van behind me honking her guts out can just shove it. i felt a little bit better about myself anyways because i was not the one in the mini-van. maybe that's why she was having such a bad day.

(the lady behind me did NOT have cool hair like this though)

i have a theory about mini-van ladies. they are in a bad mood until their husband buys them a different car that doesn't say CRANKY MOM all over it. and in all my experience of driving in a 98% mormon populated area, the worst driver award ALWAYS goes to:

1. women (i suck too, so i can say this)
2. in large vehicles- MOSTLY vans
3. MOMS - they're just busy women
4. on their freaking cell phones

mormon moms, listen up - put down the cell phone. wipe down the french fry infested mini-van and tell your kids you love them and stop shouting at them! then, you should be nice to the little pregnant lady in front of you that can't drive a car worth crap.

moving on...

good news:

today i had my diabetes test at the doctor's. i was SO nervous. sugar is a complete food group to me. i'm not quite sure what i would have done if they said no sugar.

BUT I PASSED! thank heavens! (as soon as i got home, i ate 5 donuts!)

i got to hear little squirts heart beat and it is SO loud and fast now! i love it! he is seriously having the best little dance party in there too! i'm a little jealous. i want to join him - no, no. i want him to join ME!

seriously, hearing that heart beat is the best sound in the world. i don't think anything beats that. we can NOT wait to meet this little guy. we just love him so much already.

I would hae flashed the belly, for real! But, mom's deserve a break. Being stuck in a car with babies can really do a number on you. However, I totally agree with the mini van thing. No one could possibly be happy in a car that frumpy.
