my mom is just totally rad.
she seriously is one of the funniest people alive and one of my very best friends. she always keeps our friendship - in laughing mode. i love that the most about her.

9 months ago i was blessed with a baby... haha... just teasing. i was blessed with my wonderful mother in law.
seriously, what is all the crazy hype about in-laws being this awful thing?
sorry if you got suckered into a weird family. but my new family is freaking bomb.
have you ever met the woodruffs? if not, you are SURELY missing out. they are wonderful.
(side note - and i get to meet my new brother in 5 weeks! wahooo - just got to talk to him today! he's on his mission in brazil. he's such a stud. ladies....)
anyways, back to my soapbox... i have been blessed with amazing women in my life. my grandma's - you two rock. my two new grandma's are such a hoot. love them too!
and my sister and my sister in law are a-ma-z-i-n-g women. they are the best moms. i'm pretty freaked out to follow after their big shoes to fill because i'm just not sure that whole mother instinct, nurturing thing totally applies to me. anywho-
mothers everywhere - you are loved!
my mom had to give a talk on mothers day today in her ward back in virginia (aw, how i miss it) and here's part of her talk that i just LOVED. this is totally my mom in every way:
"Mothers also believe you are the cleverest, smartest most talented person in the world. Her approval is expected; her lap and arms are the most comforting place on earth."
"Mom will stay up late or fall asleep on the couch waiting for your safe return after a date, and want to know the knitty gritty of how it all went down. She freaks you out when you’re learning to drive and brakes with both feet on the dash board when she thinks you’re too close to a car. She tells you the outfit you just really want to wear to Prom is not modest enough for a daughter of God. She even connives with dad to make you save at least half of all your earnings after you pay your tithing. She asks what you are fasting about on fast Sunday morning just as you reach for the refrigerator door. When she’s really mad at you she says horrible things like, “I hope when you grow up you’ll have children just like you…”

"But a Mother in Israel is a daughter of God, imperfections and all. She knows she has been divinely called and entrusted by her Heavenly Father to raise those spirits given into her care. So, even though it ‘hurts her more than it hurts you,’ she will put you in time-out, take away car privileges, wee games, face book, cell phones, ipods, or whatever is keeping you from becoming the person she expects you to be. Mom also lays in bed at night thinking up creative new chores. Heaven forbid if she tries to turn you into a responsible, independent adult who loves and serves the Lord."
that is just a little taste of the wonderful lady i call, mom. she sure put up with a lot from me and all of her little hooligans.

mom i sure love you. even though i'm not sure you know how to get onto this thing or know if i have a blog. just the same - happy mothers day :)
cheers.
